Acrylic, spray paint on canvas 1000 mm x 1000 mm

This is a scene adapted from a photograph of a popular modern warfare game. It seems unacceptable and strange that we indulge – and let our children indulge – in playing games that simulate death, chaos and destruction of other people’s lands. For many people and children, this is a reality and this is not a game. For these children, guns, bullets, rape, murder, torture and abuse are day-to-day threats and a real game of life and death. By allowing our children to play these games, we are immunizing them to the real horrors and injustices of war. The true heartbreak and pain of war is being diluted and is considered as ‘just a part of life’.
